The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) received a delegation from the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) to share Egypt’s experience in establishing its state-of-the-art Banknote Printing House in the New Administrative Capital, which is considered as one of the most advanced printing facilities in the Middle East and Africa.

In a statement released on Monday, the CBE said the delegation’s visit aims to benefit from the country’s experience in establishing a printing house for the BCEAO.

During the visit, the BCEAO delegation’s members conducted a tour of the New Administrative Capital’s Printing House, exploring all stages of banknote production, from the design phase to the final delivery of the banknote at the (Cash Centre), the statement added.

Additionally, they learned about the facility’s production capacity, which enables it to meet the needs of Egypt and other countries in the region, the statement noted.

The delegation’s members were briefed on the advanced technologies employed by the Printing House in its production processes, alongside the high levels of security systems designed to safeguard printed banknotes against forgery, according to the statement.

They were also informed about the applied measures to ensure the accuracy and quality of production, including the comprehensive banknotes testing process implemented at every stage of production prior to the issuance, the statement concluded.
