Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema and accompanying delegation visited today the Veterinary Serum and Vaccine Institute in Abbassia, part of the Agricultural Research Center under the Ministry of Agriculture.
Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk briefed the Zambian president on the institute’s research and its role in protecting livestock and poultry.
President Hichilema toured the institute’s various departments and learned about its production of veterinary serums and vaccines and expressed interest in utilizing Egyptian expertise in manufacturing veterinary vaccines and serums, with the goal of transferring this knowledge to Zambia.
Minister Farouk highlighted Egypt’s commitment to supporting Zambia by offering to send experts there or host Zambian officials for training in Egypt’s technology for veterinary vaccines and serums.
