The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), led by Chairman Major General Hesham Tahaoun, welcomed a delegation of civil protection officers from the Ministry of Interior as part of efforts to enhance inter-ministerial co-operation.
The visit began with a documentary presentation on the EMA’s history and functions, followed by a lecture from Manal Mohamed, Head of Specialist Training, who provided an overview of meteorological services.
The delegation then toured the Forecasting and Early Warning Centre to learn about its role in supporting civil aviation.
Concluding the visit, the officers explored the EMA’s museum, which houses historical artifacts related to climate monitoring and meteorology.
The collaboration between the EMA and the Civil Protection Authority marks a significant step towards improving joint emergency response efforts, particularly in the face of natural disasters. Discussions during the visit focused on enhancing co-operation in weather forecasting and emergency management to strengthen crisis response planning.
