FM stresses importance of promoting economic, trade cooperation between Egypt, Madagascar 1 - Egyptian Gazette

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatiates Badr Abdelatty stressed Wednesday the importance of promoting economic and trade cooperation between Egypt and Madagascar as well as Egypt’s keenness on encouraging Egyptian investments in Madagascar and enhancing trade exchange to serve the interests of the two countries. 

During a meeting Abdelatty held with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar Rasata Rafafavitafika on the sidelines of the meetings of the 46th regular session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) – Abdelatty voiced Egypt’s aspiration to activate bilateral agreements and advance cooperation efforts in vital sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, health, education and capacity building. 

He also highlighted the key role that Egyptian companies can play in supporting economic development in Madagascar.

For her part, the minister of foreign affairs of Madagascar affirmed her country’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Egypt in the various spheres.

Rafafavitafika praised the Egyptian role in supporting the issues of the African continent and its interest in strengthening development and investment frameworks in African countries.

The two sides also discussed the importance of joint coordination within the AU, together with upgrading cooperation in regional and international forums, especially with regard to exchanging support for nominations in international organizations, thus reflecting the strength of relations between the two countries.

They agreed to continue coordination and consultation on files of common interest, and boost cooperation, in a way that would serve the interests of the two peoples.
