CAIRO — Pyramids FC bolstered their lead at the top of the Egyptian Premier League standings with a commanding 3-0 victory over Zamalek, while Haras el-Hodood and Talae el-Geish also recorded wins during the 11th round of the 2024-2025 season.

The match, played at the Air Defense Stadium, saw Pyramids deliver a dominant performance, handing Zamalek a crushing defeat that propelled them to the top of the standings.
Congolese forward Fiston Mayele broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, and midfielder Mostafa Fathy extended Pyramids’ advantage with a second goal in the 65th minute. Striker Ibrahim Adel rounded off the victory with a third goal in the 70th minute.

As a result, Pyramids FC took the lead in the league with 24 points from 11 matches, with seven wins, three draws, and one loss. Zamalek remained in third place with 20 points from the same number of matches, having won six, lost three, and drawn two.
The match began with Zamalek applying early pressure, utilizing the pace of Omar Gaber, Mostafa Shalaby, and Ahmed Sayed Zizo, while Pyramids countered with the attacking prowess of right-back Mohamed Hamdy and forward Fiston Mayele.

The game continued with both teams exchanging attacks, as Pyramids’ Ibrahim Adel fired a powerful shot wide in the 19th minute, which missed the target.
The second half saw both teams press for the opening goal. Mayele tested Zamalek’s goalkeeper Mohamed Awad with a powerful shot in the 46th minute, followed by a response from Jaziri a minute later.

Pyramids took the lead in the 58th minute when Mayele capitalized on a defensive error by Zamalek’s Mahmoud el-Wensh, firing past Awad to open the scoring.
The second goal came in the 65th minute when Ibrahim Adel delivered a precise pass to Mostafa Fathy, who finished with a powerful left-footed shot into the bottom left corner.
Pyramids secured the victory with a third goal in the 70th minute, as Ramadan Sobhi delivered a precise low cross from the right side of the penalty area, which Ibrahim Adel met with a well-placed shot from the center of the box, sending the ball into the left side of the net.

At Ismailia Stadium, Talae el-Geish secured a vital 2-1 victory over Ismaili, moving up to eighth place in the league standings with 15 points from 11 matches. Ismaili, on the other hand, remained in 12th place with 12 points from the same number of games.
Nigerian forward Godwin Chika and left winger Ragab Omran were on target for Talae el-Geish, while striker Marwan Hamdi netted the only goal for Ismaili.

In the sixth minute, center-forward Khaled al-Nabris delivered a precise long pass to Marwan Hamdi, who calmly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Mohamed Shaaban, giving Ismaili an early 1-0 lead and thrilling the home crowd.
Talae el-Geish responded by increasing their attacking intensity. Midfielder Emad Fathy missed a key opportunity, and Chika found the net, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside after a decision by referee Nader Qamar. The first half ended with Ismaili leading 1-0, after 10 minutes of stoppage time.
In the 53rd minute, Chika capitalized on a well-placed pass from central midfielder Islam Mohareb to equalize for the visitors.

In the 88th minute, referee Nader Qamar awarded a penalty to Talae el-Geish after Ismaili left-back Ahmed Meteb’s cross struck the hand of Ismaili midfielder Mohamed Hassan. After a VAR review, the decision was upheld, and Omran confidently converted the penalty to seal the 2-1 victory for Talae El-Geish.
El-Gouna endured their sixth consecutive defeat in the Egyptian Premier League, falling 1-0 to Haras el-Hodood at El-Gouna Stadium. This latest loss came after a run of five consecutive defeats to Petrojet, Pyramids, Al-Ahly, NBE Club, and Zamalek.
Forward Abdel-Rahman Gouda scored the decisive goal in the third minute of first-half stoppage time (45+3), securing the victory for Haras el-Hodood.
With this result, Haras el-Hodood moved up to seventh place in the league standings with 15 points, having recorded four wins, three draws, and four losses. Meanwhile, El-Gouna remained at the bottom of the table in 18th place with just six points, having managed one win, three draws, and seven defeats.
