Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Samih El-Hefny, has appointed Mohamed Hammad as Assistant Minister for Cabinet and Parliamentary Affairs. Hammad brings extensive managerial experience, having held numerous roles in the civil aviation sector and public service.
Hammad began his career as a tourism specialist in the tourism sector before moving to customs clearance at EgyptAir Duty Free Shops. He later worked in advertising, contracts, and procurement before transitioning to EgyptAir Airlines as an operations officer, customer service supervisor, and station support supervisor. His experience also includes roles in EgyptAir’s call centre, station management office, and the media centre at the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
During the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hammad served as Assistant Minister for Cabinet Affairs, contributing to the ministry’s successful crisis response. He later took on roles in marketing and strategic planning at EgyptAir Airlines and represented the Civil Aviation Ministry in the Youth Senate Simulation Model.
Hammad holds postgraduate diplomas in marketing, social sciences, geography, and population studies. He is a certified trainer by the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) and EgyptAir, specialising in customer service.
His training also includes aviation safety, anti-corruption courses from the Administrative Control Authority, and political communication skills from the National Planning Institute.
With his extensive expertise and leadership skills, Hammad’s appointment is seen as a significant asset to the Ministry of Civil Aviation during a pivotal time for the sector.
