Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population haled Abdel-Ghaffar, met yesterday a delegation from Mindray, a leading global manufacturer of medical devices, to explore ways of increasing potential collaboration in training, scientific research, and mechanisms for localizing the production of radiology devices in Egypt.
During the meeting, Abdel-Ghaffar commended Mindray’s achievements in Egypt’s healthcare sector and its contributions to advancing medical services globally.
He also emphasised the government’s commitment to localising the manufacturing of medical devices and supplies, leveraging global expertise to achieve self-sufficiency and position Egypt as a leader in medical manufacturing, said Health Ministry Spokesman, Dr Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar.
In addition, the meeting probed opportunities for training health technicians and fostering cooperation with Mindray to enhance healthcare quality, he added. This will seek to introduce advanced medical technologies, particularly in radiology, to improve diagnostic services in hospitals.
Discussions also covered the integration of smart hospital systems, research and training centers, and artificial intelligence applications in radiology.
The expansion of continuous medical education programs for radiology technicians, including the use of simulation devices for practical training, to equip medical staff with cutting-edge skills, was also addressed during the meeting.
Mindray’s contributions to Egypt’s healthcare sector were acknowledged, particularly in radiology, through collaboration with the Ambulance Authority, mobile clinic initiatives supporting presidential health campaigns, and partnerships with the Health Care Authority and educational institutions.
