President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering efforts to support the Palestinian people and to establish an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to secure a ceasefire and deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, aiming to alleviate the humanitarian crisis, protect the population, and stop the bloodshed.
The meeting was held Thursday on the sidelines of the D-8 Organisation for Economic Co-operation Summit in the New Administrative Capital.
The discussion focused on ways to restore calm in Palestinian territories, including the situation in the West Bank, with both leaders condemning repeated Israeli violations.
They emphasised that the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem constitute the territory of the Palestinian state.Both presidents firmly rejected any attempts to displace the Palestinians or undermine the Palestinian cause.
President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.
He praised Egypt’s historic and steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
