Arab Organisation for Dialogue Launches Campaign to Combat Misinformation on Sustainable Development Goals.
The Arab Organisation for Dialogue and International Co-operation has launched a campaign titled “With Mind Like This!” to combat the spread of misinformation and disinformation surrounding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The campaign, which is part of the European Union’s Anna Lindh Foundation project, aims to educate the public, particularly young people, about the importance of critical thinking and media literacy.
Dr Hanan Youssef, President of the Arab Organisation for Dialogue, emphasised the significance of media education in equipping young people to identify and challenge misinformation. She noted that misconceptions about the SDGs can hinder societal progress and undermine efforts to achieve these global goals.
The campaign utilizes various media channels, including social media, to disseminate accurate information and promote critical thinking. Through a series of activities such as workshops, debates, and online content, the Organisation seeks to empower individuals to become informed citizens and active participants in shaping a sustainable future.
By addressing the issue of misinformation, the Arab Organisation for Dialogue aims to foster a more informed and engaged public that can contribute to the realisation of the SDGs and build a more just and equitable society.
