RIO DE JANEIRO – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Nigerian counterpart Bola Tinubu reviewed Tuesday ways to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic, trade, investment and health sectors.

During a meeting on the margins of the G20 summit, which wrapped up earlier in the day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the two sides also discussed cooperation for sharing counter-terrorism experience, according to a statement by the Egyptian Presidency spokesperson.

The meetings tackled peace and security issues in Africa and how to entrench continental peace and stability, and preserve the security, sovereignty and independence of all African countries.

Sisi and Tinubu also discussed ways to enhance cooperation at all levels under the umbrella of the African Union, in such a manner that guarantees fulfilment of the interests and aspirations of African peoples, and the implementation of Agenda 2063.

The 2024 G20 Leaders’ Summit was held on Monday and Tuesday at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in Rio de Janeiro, a fundamental event for the future of global governance.
