Expanding cultural and creative events in South Sinai cities was at the core of talks held on Monday between South SinaiGovernor Khaled Mubarak and Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hano, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the 9th edition of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival.

The meeting discussed ways and mechanisms of bolstering joint co-operation and intensifying cultural and creative events in all cities of South Sinai, aiming to and families of the region.

Minister Hano affirmed his commitment to strengthening collaboration with governorate to implement more diverse cultural and artistic activities that benefit the residents of the governorate and enrich societal awareness among the youth.

 Henno highlighted the ministry’s efforts to implement various cultural and artistic initiatives and projects in South Sinai as part of broader efforts to achieve the  sustainable development goals. This aligns with the presidential initiative, “A New Beginning for Building Humanity,” launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

For his part, Governor Mubarak emphasised the key role of the Ministry of Culture in raising awareness about societal issues, fostering intellectual development, reinforcing cultural identity, promoting citizenship values, addressing societal challenges, and enhancing social cohesion.

He also confirmed the governorate’s commitment to providing all necessary support to organise fruitful cultural activities that contribute to comprehensive development in the region.

At the end of the meeting, Mubarak presented a commemorative gift to the Minister: a miniature model of St. Catherine’s Monastery, one of the region’s significant religious and cultural heritage sites, along with a book about marine life there.
