Egypt’s Civil Aviation Minister Dr Sameh el-Hefny met Wednesday with Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on the sidelines of the 2024 Bahrain International Airshow.
The meeting took up cooperation between the two Arab countries in the field of civil aviation.
A statement by the Civil Aviation Ministry said both sides agreed on the importance of joint efforts to achieve sustainable growth in the aviation sector.
They also discussed future plans for advancing air transport infrastructure in both countries, enhancing passenger experience, and furthering airport safety and security measures in line with international standards.
The two ministers discussed a Bahraini request to increase the number of direct and cargo flights between Egypt and Bahrain in a way that would boost bilateral trade and economic ties, the statement said.
Hefny expressed pride in taking part in the 2024 Bahrain International Airshow, which he called an important world event, read the statement. It added that the minister’s participation reflects strong relations between the two Arab countries.
