Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat said Egypt will be one of the leading countries in low-carbon hydrogen economy in 2040, especially after issuing a law to incentivize green hydrogen law.
He made the remarks during the Ministerial Meeting of the IEA World Fusion Energy Group.
He underlined the importance of power linkage in light of its distinguished location between the three continents; Africa, Asia and Europe.
The renewable energy percentage will be over 60% in 2040 to manignify energy efficiency to rationalize consumption.
Egypt has an integrated and sustainable energy strategy within the framework of the Egypt Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
