CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriate Badr Abdelatty Monday hailed the distinguished Egyptian-German relations at various political, economic and cultural levels.
Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s appreciation for Germany as one of Egypt’s largest partners in the economic and development domains, a unique partnership reflected in significant contributions of German firms in the implementation of national projects in Egypt.
The foreign minister made the remarks while receiving German Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Co-operation and Development Niels Annen, who is visiting here for participation in the 12the session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), which kicked off Monday and runs till Friday.
Abdelatty said that Egypt attaches great importance to the advancement of bilateral relations with Germany in different areas, particularly in the fields of development, energy, renewable energy, education, vocational training and transfer of qualified laborers.
The top Egyptian diplomat said the Egypt is looking forward to receiving Germany’s support to the Egyptian interests within the framework of the European Union, including the implementation of an agreement on elevating the level of Egypt-EU relations and the endorsement of financial packages to Egypt.
Abdelatty highlighted bilateral cooperation in emigration and expounded Egypt’s strenuous efforts to curb the waves of illegal immigration to the European continent.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of enhancing regular migration pathways for Egyptian workers to the German market.
He highlighted Egyptian efforts to increase German support for driving economic activities in Egypt in projects like green hydrogen and renewable energy, in light of Egypt’s promising capabilities in this field.
The proposal to strengthen trilateral cooperation to implement development programs and projects in African countries was also discussed during the meeting.
