The Egyptian Foreign Ministry dismissed as groundless recent allegations made by leader of the Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, about Egypt being involved in airstrikes on the group’s troops in Sudan.
These allegations came at a time when Egypt is making strenuous efforts to stop the war in Sudan, protect civilians, and strengthen international response to humanitarian relief plans for those affected by the ongoing war in Sudan, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates on Wednesday.
The ministry called on the international community to look for any evidence supporting the claims of the RSF leader.
Reiterating Egypt’s commitment to preserving the security, stability and unity of Sudan, the ministry said Cairo will spare no effort to provide all means of support to Sudan brethren to overcome the grave damage caused by this brutal war.
