Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy discussed on Wednesday with Singapore’s Ambassador to Egypt Dominic Goh and CEO of the Company which is organizing “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” and his accompanying delegation mechanisms for cooperation to organize a number of temporary archaeological exhibitions worldwide to promote for the great Egyptian civilization.
The meeting was held in the premises of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
The meeting dealt with the possibility of extending the period of holding the exhibition in its next station in the Japanese capital Tokyo from six months to nine months to receive visitors who will come from many Japanese cities to inspect it and watch Egyptian artifacts.
The meeting also probed the extension of the period of the organization of the exhibition and its holding in another number of world countries following its organization in its fifth and last station in Tokyo.
The “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition includes 180 artifacts from the era of King Ramses II.
The collection features select pieces from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and the sarcophagus of King Ramses II from the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). Several other pieces have been brought from museums across Egypt.
Other artifacts on display include pieces discovered by the Egyptian mission in the Bubastis area in Saqqara.
These items highlight the distinct features of ancient Egyptian civilization from the Middle Kingdom to the Late Period, including statues, jewelery, cosmetic tools, panels, stone blocks adorned with inscriptions, and colorful wooden coffins.
