Official reception ceremonies have been held for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the presidential palace upon his arrival in Ankara on an official visit.
Turkish guards saluted the president upon his arrival to the presidential palace accompanied by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The national anthems of Egypt and Turkey were played.
Sisi shook hands with senior Turkish officials welcoming him, while Erdogan shook hands with the Egyptian delegation accompanying President Sisi.
Sisi is scheduled to hold tete-a-tete meeting with Erdogan ahead of holding a plenary session.
During the visit, the first meeting of the High-level Strategic Co-operation Council will convene with the participation of the presidents of both countries.
The council meeting is scheduled to explore ways to promote bilateral relations across an array of fields, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues of joint interest, particularly the Israeli aggression in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Egypt and Turkey are scheduled to sign a number of agreements and memo to foster bilateral ties.
