WASHINGTON – The US Central Command (Centcom) announced Wednesday destroying a missile system in an area under control of Houthi group in Yemen during the past 24 hours.
The US Central Command said in a brief statement that Houthi regime has been found to pose a serious threat to US forces, coalition forces and commercial ships in the region.
The measure was taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US ships, coalition forces and commercial ships, the statement said.
The US Central Command has recently announced that it was able to destroy two missile systems and two drones belonging to the Iranian-backed Houthis in an area they control in Yemen, it added.
