CAIRO – Equatorial Guinea Minister of Health and Social Welfare Dámaso Mitoha Ayecaba lauded preparedness of the Egyptian Health and Population Ministry to train his country’s medial cadres at Egyptian hospitals on hepatitis virus C treatment.

During a meeting between Egyptian ambassador in Malabo Haddad Abdel Tawab Gohari and the Guinean minister, the minister underlined his country’s Keenness on benefiting from the presidential initiative for treating African people from hepatitis virus C that was launched in 2019.

He asked the minister to send more Egyptian doctors to Equatorial Guinea due to their efficiency.

Talks also tackled available medical tourism programs in Egypt’s hospitals and medical centers as Egypt became a destination for many patients from Equatorial Guinea, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said.

Discussions also covered co-operation in the pharmaceutical domain as Equatorial Guinea welcomed Egyptian companies to join its market to cater for local needs, in addition to opening vistas for Egyptian medicine to be exported to neighboring countries in central Africa.
