RAMALLAH – Israeli occupation forces Monday forced Palestinian citizens to evacuate large areas of the eastern neighborhoods of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, coinciding with intense air and artillery bombardment on the area, WAFA reported.
Although the occupation army previously claimed that the same area that it is demanding to evacuate today is among the humanitarian and safe areas, it returned, through a statement issued by its spokesman, to claim that staying in that area has become dangerous, even though it is already destroyed and had been subjected to intense bombing previously, Palestinian civilians citizens returned to it because there is no other option and nowhere to turn.
WAFA correspondent said that immediately after the army’s decision was issued, the intensive bombing operation began from the air and land without giving citizens a chance to prepare themselves, which killed at least 12 civilians and the injury of dozens.
About a week ago, the occupation army committed a massacre in Al-Mawasi area, which it claimed was safe, resulting in the killing of 90 civilians and the injury of 300, in a series of raids that targeted tents and places where the Palestinians were displaced.
On May 6, the occupation troops forced citizens to evacuate several areas in Rafah under the pretext that they are dangerous combat zones.
Last April, the occupation army forced citizens to evacuate the eastern areas of the city of Rafah and migrate to Khan Yunis and Al-Mawasi, despite the extensive destruction there.
