Senegalese official commends Egypt’s achievements in urban development, infrastructure

Senegalese Minister of Industry and Commerce Serigne Gueye Diop commended on Thursday achievements made by Egypt in the fields of urban development and improvement of infrastructure in the coming few years.

The Egyptian accomplishments are a model to be followed by African countries, particularly Senegal, he said.

During a meeting with Egyptian Ambassador in Dakar Khaled Aref, the Senegalese official said Senegal seeks to develop its economy through the establishment of new industrial zones and increase the country’s cultivated areas to create more job opportunities to youths.

Both sides discussed ways of boosting cooperation relations between the two countries.

The Egyptian diplomat tackled a number of projects the Egyptian private sector companies are seeking to carry out in Senegal in the fields of infrastructure, pharmaceutical industries, electrical industries along with holding training programs to build capabilities and exchange experiences.

The Senegalese minister said he is looking forward to capitalizing on Egyptian experiences, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates.

He said Senegal believes in African unity and that cooperation among African countries is the best way to achieve growth and sustainable development.
