The Armed Forces organised a field visit for public figures and media representatives to the Toshka Desert Reclamation and Cultivation Project in southern Egypt. The project spans 400,000 feddans and is set to reach 600,000 feddans by the end of 2025.
This comes in line with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to highlight achievements made by Egyptians in various sectors.
The delegation received a detailed briefing from Chairman of the National Company for Desert Reclamation and Cultivation Major General Tawfiq Sami. He outlined the current and future phases of the project, emphasising its contributions to expanding Egypt’s arable land and creating integrated agricultural communities, which have significant economic benefits and contribute to a breakthrough in food security.
The visitors toured various stages of the project and expressed admiration and appreciation for the efforts of those working under challenging climatic conditions. The workers reiterated their unwavering commitment to sacrifice and contribute towards building Egypt’s future with dedication.
At the end of the tour, the delegation thanked the Armed Forces for organising the visit and for their efforts, in collaboration with state institutions, to support development initiatives aimed at providing a dignified life for citizens in a secure and stable country amidst regional conflicts and changes.
