CAIRO – The Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue reiterated its support for the Egyptian stance towards the Palestinian issue, which is manifested by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi who believes that there is no solution to the Palestinian issue except by recognising the Palestinian state and rejecting displacement and liquidation of the issue, as well as any violation of the Egyptian national security and Egypt’s full sovereignty.

This came during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue on Saturday, which lasted for about ten hours. The meeting tackled many urgent internal and external issues that are of top priority to the Egyptian citizen.

The council underlined the need to line behind the political leadership in light of the current critical conditions.

The Palestinian issue and its impact on Egypt was on the top of the topics discussed in the meeting in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to include issues related to national security and foreign policy in the discussions of the national dialogue in light of the deteriorating conditions in the Gaza Strip as a result of continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

In light of the strong and effective Egyptian rejection of the liquidation of the Palestinian issue and the importance of preserving the Egyptian borders, the Board of Trustees requests judicial authorities to release those held in pretrial detention as a result of their involvement in some activities related to supporting the Palestinian people, stressing that this decision will increase the cohesion between the people and the government in protecting national security.

The Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue welcomed Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli’s decision to refer to the National Dialogue the issue of the transition from in-kind to cash support for discussion.

At the end of the meeting the board called for holding more meetings by the Joint committee comprising the government and the National Dialogue to put into effect the outcome of the first stage of the dialogue.
