GAZA CITY – Amjad Shawa, the Director of the Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO), called for declaring the Gaza Strip as a “disaster area” due to the current famine and environmental disaster in it.
In statements to Al Qahera News on Friday, the Palestinian official warned against the humanitarian catastrophe facing the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, saying the displaced Palestinians are crammed into tents surrounded by the mounting piles of garbage and sewage water as Israel’s siege of Gaza City continues.
The occupation army violates all humanitarian and moral conventions, treaties, and principles by targeting the Palestinian civilians, he said, calling on international organizations to quickly provide lifesaving medical supplies to the Palestinians in Gaza.
