RAMALLAH – Official spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said today that the Israeli forces’ attack on the Rafah land crossing, threatening to displace citizens from shelters and residential centers, and preventing United Nations employees from entering the Gaza Strip, WAFA reported.

Abu Rudeineh described the attack as war crimes, calling for holding Israel the full accountable.

He further called on the US administration to intervene immediately to prevent the Israeli occupation authorities from invading Rafah and displacing hundreds of civilians, especially since most of them are displaced from the northern and central Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli shelling.

“The Rafah land crossing and the rest of the territory of the Gaza Strip is occupied Palestinian land in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, but the occupation, supported by America with weapons, money and political cover, insists on continuing to defy international legitimacy, because the American veto will protect it.”

Abu Rudeineh warned of the dangers of the Israeli attack on the city of Rafah, which threatens the lives of millions of Palestinians and pushes matters to the brink of abyss, in addition to controlling the Palestinian border crossings, which will double the suffering of civilians.

He added, it will prevent the flow of relief aid to our people in the Gaza Strip, which portends an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

Abu Rudeineh stressed that these aggressive policies against the Palestinian people will not bring security and stability to anyone, and the only solution is for the Palestinian people to obtain their full legitimate rights to their land in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
