The Civil Aviation Ministry concluded its Ramadan five-a-side football tournament for holding and subsidiary companies under the sponsorship of Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy in the presence of football stars.

The Airport Authority team won the championship after defeating EgyptAir Ground Services Company in the final match held at the Aero Sport Club stadium.

Khaled Refaat, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Sports Activities at EgyptAir, stated that the 2024 Ramadan tournament included 18 open-age teams from all companies affiliated with the Civil Aviation Ministry. The Port Authority team defeated the Ground Services with a score of 2-1 and clinched the championship cup.

Refaat highlighted the success of organizing the tournament and the attendance of former football stars, including Captain Khaled Jalal, Reda Abdel Aal, Hisham Yakan, and international referee Gamal El-Ghandour, along with many other stars, company presidents, and audience members who are employees of the sector’s representative companies.

“We are in the process of developing a plan with the Supreme Committee for Sports Activities to announce a year-round league for the current year,” Refaat said.

Refaat thanked Mohamed Adel Hosny, Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Subsidiary Company, for sponsoring the Ramadan tournament and the efforts made to ensure the tournament’s proper representation of the Civil Aviation Ministry’s name.
