CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted Sunday the necessity of achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Egypt totally rejects the forced displacement of Palestinians and will not allow it to happen, affirmed President Sisi during a meeting with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the sidelines of the Egyptian-European Summit.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed several bilateral co-operation files, including the expected signing of the joint political declaration document to elevate relations between Egypt and the European Union to the level of “strategic and comprehensive partnership”.
They also discussed the regional conditions, said Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
President Sisi stressed the necessity of reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinians outside their land, added the spokesman.
