The Egyptian Cabinet’s media center has denied rumors that the Tahajjud prayer in mosques will be cancelled during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
The center said in a statement on Friday that it contacted the Ministry of Awqaf, which described the news as groundless.
The alleged warnings circulated in some social media networks date back to 2021 during the outbreak of Covid-19, the note said.
No instructions have been issued on regulating Tahajjud prayer so far, the ministry added.
The center urged the media means and social media websites to be precise and subjective about the news they publish.
Tahajjud is a voluntary night prayer that is offered to attain mental strength and peace.
