Egyptian State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Salaheldin discussed with Kenyan Defense Minister Aden Bare Duale boosting bilateral co-operation at the Military Production Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the keenness of the two countries’ leaderships to strengthen the Egyptian-Kenyan ties, a matter that was reflected in exchanging official visits and meetings between the two countries, topped by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s visit to the Kenyan capital of Nairobi in July to participate in the 5th Fifth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.
During the visit, President Sisi had talks with Kenyan President William Ruto on many issues of mutual interest, in addition to the summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), which was held in Zambia, and in Paris on the sidelines of the International Summit “New Global Finance Compact”, held in June 2023.
The two sides discussed the possibility of opening up new horizons for joint co-operation between Egypt’s military production companies and similar Kenyan companies in various manufacturing domains.
The Kenyan minister expressed his appreciation of the friendly ties between the two countries, lauding Egypt’s key role at the regional and international levels, particularly the role played by the Egyptian state to fight terrorism in the region.
He praised the role played by the Military Production Ministry in meeting the Egyptian Armed Forces’ requirements for ammunition, weapons, equipment and electronic systems manufactured as per the latest technologies.
