CAIRO – Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad said Wednesday the political leadership is paying a greater attention to transition to the clean energy file.

The Egyptian government has been supporting this file during COP27, she said, asserting Egypt’s greater interest in backing the industry sector to rely on low-cost technology that reduces carbon emissions to achieve and secure sustainable energy future.

Fouad’s remarks came while participating in a session, themed “Sustainability of Energy”, which was held on the sidelines of Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2024) and in the presence of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek Molla.

Under the esteemed patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and supported by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, EGYPES 2024 has been a platform for exploring the latest industry trends and fostering regional progress.

The theme of “Driving Energy Transition, Security, and Decarbonization” has guided the conversations, sparking insightful dialogue and innovative solutions.

The minister thanked Molla, participants and organizers for the invitation and good organization of the event.

She tackled challenges facing the transition to clean energy in the session.

As we delve into the last day of EGYPES 2024, the momentum continues to build. Industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders from across the globe are coming together to shape a sustainable future for the energy landscape. From discussing cutting-edge technologies to forging strategic partnerships, there are endless opportunities to make meaningful contributions and drive positive change.
