CAIRO – The meetings of the Economic Committee of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League (ECOSOC) kicked off Monday at the premises of the Arab League, chaired by Jordan and attended by Assistant Secretary-General of the League for Economic Affairs Ambassador Ali Al-Maliki to prepare for the meetings of the 113th session of the ECOSOC at the ministerial level scheduled for next Thursday.
The committee meetings are to discuss the economic agenda of the current session of the Council, monitoring the implementation of decisions of the 112th session of the ECOSOC, the activity of the General Secretariat between the two sessions of the Council (112-113), and the Secretary-General’s report on the League’s activity between the two sessions.
The meetings also are to address the economic and social agenda of the Arab League Council at the summit level in its upcoming regular session scheduled in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2024.
The Social Committee of the ECOSOC held its meeting Sunday as part of the preparations for the ministerial-level meetings of the Council.
