CAIRO – Chairperson of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsi urged on Sunday the UN to work for swift, safe and unrestricted access for humanitarian assistance into the Gaza Strip and to reject the forced displacement of Palestinians.
She also called on the UN to end aggression on Gaza and to work for an immediate ceasefire.
In a statement, Morsi expressed sadness over the continued killing and human rights violations committed against women and children in the Gaza strip for more than 120 days.
She underlined the importance of providing protection to civilians and setting up necessary mechanisms to monitor human rights violations in the Palestinian territories.
Meanwhile, the UN Women Organisation lauded strenuous efforts exerted by the national council and the Ministry of Palestinian Women to secure needs of of Palestinian women and girls in Gaza.
