Abul Gheit appreciates countries sponsoring draft decision for Gaza ceasefire

Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit said he is appreciating a decision by 99 countries to sponsor a draft decision which is calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. 

Abul Gheit also said he is appreciating efforts exerted by the 13 UNSC members that believe in respecting the international law. 

Abul Gheit said on “X” platform (formerly known as Twitter) that the Security Council was unfortunately banned from adopting the right and moral political decision to stop this “insane” aggression. 

The Security Council failed to adopt a resolution that would have demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza due to a veto cast by the United States.
