As part of Egypt’s relentless efforts to deliver aid to Gazans, Minister of Social Solidarity and Vice President of the Egyptian Red Crescent, Nivineel-Qabbaj, inspected on Friday efforts and services provided by the Egyptian Red Crescent at the Rafah border crossing, to bring in humanitarian and relief aid.

The minister met with the Egyptian Red Crescent volunteers, who are present the Rafah land crossing to provide humanitarian and relief aid to innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip after brutal attacks. She lauded their efforts, citing the appreciation of the political leadership and the masses of the Egyptian people, as well as world countries and international organizations.

She also inspected the Egyptian Red Crescent’s stores to ensure the availability of all services being transferred to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The minister along with ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of the Social Affairs Sector, followed up on the arrival of the convoy of relief aid provided by the Councils of Arab Ministers of Health and Social Affairs to the Gaza Strip through Rafah land crossing. The convoy comprises 65 trucks of relief, humanitarian and medical aid.

The aid convoy, comprising food, water, personal care supplies, medicines, mattresses and blankets, is aimed at alleviating suffering of Gazans given the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe they are experiencing due to the Israeli aggression.

Minister el-Qabbaj thanked Egyptian First Lady Entissar El Sisi for her support of these efforts to provide aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

“The aid convoy comes as a continuation of the aid convoys provided by Egypt and other countries to our people in the Gaza Strip,” she said, adding that such aid should continue in view of the poor humanitarian situation in Gaza, citing collapse of the Strip’s infrastructure.
