CAIRO – Pyramids FC, Enppi, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria and El-Gouna claimed victories in their matches in the 5th week of the Egyptian Premier League 2023-2024 season as Zamalek dropped more points.
At Borg el-Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Pyramids FC snatched a 3-2 win over Al-Masry of Ports Said.
Congolese striker Fiston Mayele rises highest to flick in a header from Tunisian Mohamed el-Sheibi’s delightful cross in the 74th minute to put Pyramids FC in front.
Winger Mostafa Fathi added the second in the 48th minutes. Then midfielder Mohamed el-Shamy scored the first goal for Al-Masry in the 82nd minute, and then Mabley grabbed the third goal for Pyramids in the 85th minute.
Two minutes later, Algerian Ghiles Guenaoui snatched the second goal for Al-Masry.
The victory cemented Pyramids FC on top the domestic league table with 13 points from 5 matches as Al-Masry dropped into 4th place with 9 points from 5 matches.
At Arab Contractors Stadium, Enppi claimed a dramatic 2-1 victory over Zamalek.
Ziad Kamal opened the scoring for Enppi in the 22nd minutes as winger Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’ grabbed the White Knights’ equaliser from the penalty spot in the 29th minutes.
Enppi’s Ahmed Amin struck a decisive winner in the 68th minutes.
The result moved Enppi to 8th place in the table on seven points from five matches as Zamalek remained at 5th place with eight points from five matches.
At Cairo International Stadium, ZED FC and Smouha shared the spoils in a thrilling 1-1 draw.
ZED FC seemed on course for victory when midfielder Mostafa Abdel-Raouf gave them the lead after 60 minutes.
But Amr Kalawa scored equaliser from the penalty spot in the 73rd minutes.
The draw left ZED FC to 3rd place with nine points from five matches as Smouha stayed in 7th place with eight points from five matches.
At Borg el-Arab Stadium in Alexandria, El-Gouna FC defeated Pharco FC 1-0 thanks to Moroccan winger Ahmed Belhadji goal in the 19th minutes.
El-Gouna climbed to 11th place on five points from four matches as Pharco FC stayed in 14th place with four points from five games.
At Alexandria Stadium, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria beat Arab Contractors 3-2.
Arab Contractors took the lead through defender Ahmed Alaa three minutes from the beginning.
Angolan striker Mabululu levelled for Al-Ittihad five minutes later
Ghanaian striker Benjamin Boateng added the second for Alexandrian based side in the 21st minutes.
Al-Ittihad defender Mahmoud Shabana scored the second goal for Arab Contractors by an own goal in the 27th minutes.
Al-Ittihad’s playmaker Ahmed Adel scored a dramatic late winner in the 87th minutes.
This result left Al-Ittihad of Alexandria in 6th spot with eight points from five matches as Arab Contractors dropped into 17th place with two points from five matches.
