Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir launched on Tuesday the third phase of the Industrial Innovation Award Platform in co-operation with the German agency for international development GIZ to support industrial development and encourage technology and innovation in the industrial sector.
In a statement, Samir said the programme aims at implementing three initiatives, i.e. innovation awareness, innovation management and the industrial innovation award, to help improve competitiveness among companies and individuals.
The Industrial Innovation Award, implemented by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and the German International Co-operation (GIZ) – on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ), aims at acknowledging and supporting Egyptian industrial companies that have an implemented product, service or process innovation, that led to higher profits, cost savings, job creation or exports promotion.
