Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi met Sunday Croatian Ambassador in Cairo Tomislav Bošnjak to discuss means of enhancing co-operation in the different industrial fields.

The minister briefed the Croatian diplomat about the different technological and industrial capabilities of the factories affiliated to the Ministry of State for Military Production, especially in the fields where there can be co-operation.

He expressed hopes that his meeting with Ambassador Bošnjak would open the door for investment co-operation with Croatia as well as joint work with Croatian companies.

Minister Morsi highlighted close relations between Cairo and Zagreb.

He said the Ministry of State for Military Production is keen on benefiting from Croatian expertise in the different fields.

The ministry, he said, is interested in boosting co-operation with all international companies in the localization of industries and the transfer of technologies.

“This moves hand in hand with the Egyptian national strategy for exploiting industrial and technical capacities in backing sustainable development efforts,” Minister Morsi said.

He said Egypt is a promising market for Croatian products, noting that some of these products can be co-manufactured with the companies of the Ministry of State for Military Production.

“Egypt is also an important gateway into Arab and African markets,” the Egyptian minister said.

Ambassador Bošnjak, for his part, referred to close relations and co-operation with Egypt.

He said Zagreb and Cairo realize that they need to push their relations in the economic and industrial fields forward.

There are important opportunities, the Croatian diplomat said, for enhancing trade co-operation between Egypt and Croatia as well.

He noted that both counties enjoy huge economic capabilities and a good geographic location in Africa and the European continent.
