Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi Thursday discussed with the Australian Ambassador to Egypt Glenn Miles ways to further bilateral co-operation in various fields of industrialisation.
During the meeting, Morsi reviewed the technological, manufacturing and technical potentials of military production companies.
“I hope this meeting plays a great role in opening new horizons for investment and co-operation between military production companies and operating companies in similar fields in Australia,” the minister said.
“Egyptian-Australian relations witness a remarkable development. The Ministry of Military Production seeks to benefit from Australian expertise in many aspects of industrialisation,” Morsi added, pointing to the ministry’s keenness to co-operate with various international firms in the transfer and localisation of modern technologies in Egypt.
The ministry is also looking forward to carrying out government policies to develop and adapt to the available industrial, technical and technological capabilities in order to support sustainable development strategies by relying on local manufacturing capabilities to the highest international quality standards, Morsi said.
For his part, Ambassador Miles said, “Egypt is a promising market for the products of Australian companies, and can be considered a hub for the Arab and African markets.”
“There are mutual friendship and co-operation relations between the two sides. There are important opportunities to enhance trade co-operation between Australia and Egypt, as the two countries have great economic potentials and advantageous geographical locations,” he added.
Miles also hailed Egypt’s pivotal role in the Arab region and the Middle East and its efforts in combating terrorism.
Egypt provides a supportive environment for investment, the envoy said.
He referred to the ongoing modernisation processes in Egypt including the establishment of the New Administrative Capital and smart cities, praising the remarkable activity of the Ministry of Military Production in supporting national and development projects in Egypt.
