CAIRO – Various achievements, agreements and partnerships with various foreign and Arab companies were achieved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and its subsidiaries during their participation in the Dubai Air Show 2021, which lasted for 4 consecutive days.

 

EgyptAir succeeded in concluding many agreements and contracts during the exhibition’s activities.

Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation Montaser Manna and President of EgyptAir Holding Company Amr Abu Al-Ainin witnessed the signing of a contract between EgyptAir Airlines and OEMServices with the aim of cooperation in the provision of spare parts units and various services for the EgyptAir fleet, provided that EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering supervise the implementation of the contract, which extends for several years.

 

The contract was signed by CEO of EgyptAir Airlines Amr Nabil and CEO of OEMServices.

The delegation of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, headed by Manna, also met during the exhibition with Emirates Airlines officials.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation and joint coordination between the two national carriers, EgyptAir and Emirates Airlines in several areas, including the field of maintenance and technical works.

During the current period, an agreement is made to provide EgyptAir for Maintenance and Engineering with maintenance services at Cairo International Airport for the Emirates Airlines A380, the largest commercial aircraft in the world.

 

Deputy Civil Aviation Minister Manna, Assistant Minister of Civil Aviation for International Affairs and Information Basem Abdel Karim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Holding Company Abou El-Ainin and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Airlines Pilot Nabil met with officials from the two international companies Boeing and Airbus in the field of aircraft manufacturing.

 

The meeting dealt with the mechanisms of joint cooperation between EgyptAir and the two companies, which extends for decades in the field of air transport industry.

 

During the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation, including training, and others, as EgyptAir is a major partner for Boeing and Airbus in the Middle East and Africa, as well as the cooperation that takes place between the two companies and the Egyptian civil aviation sector in line with the strategic plans of Egyptian airlines to modernize its air fleet.

 

The exhibition activities witnessed the signing of EgyptAir and Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, a memorandum of understanding that includes strengthening cooperation in the field of codeshare between the two carriers as well as studying cooperation in the fields of air freight, maintenance, training and loyalty programmes for the two carriers.

Also, EgyptAir for Maintenance and Engineering signed a contract with Kuwait Jazeera Airways to provide daily maintenance services for Jazeera Airways flights at six Egyptian airports.

 

The contract included that EgyptAir Company for Maintenance and Engineering would provide daily maintenance services for the planes of the Kuwaiti Jazeera company at the airports of Cairo, Burj Al Arab, Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Assiut and Sohag.

EgyptAir Company for Maintenance and Engineering signed an agreement to provide various technical services for the aircraft of the Jordanian company Fly Jordan.

 

A contract was also signed between EgyptAir Ground Service and ODEON Tours, one of the largest Russian companies in the field of organizing travel and tourism trips.

The agreement aims to provide ground services for flights organized by the company to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada airports.

Also, a contract was signed between EgyptAir Ground Services and Tiger Aviation Services as an agent for Danish Air and the Russian IFly to provide ground service for flights of the two companies at Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada airports.

Two contracts to provide ground services were also signed between EgyptAir Ground Services and Aviary as an agent for the two Russian companies SMATAVIA and IZHAVIA to provide ground services for the two companies’ flights at Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada airports.

EgyptAir Airlines and the Saudi Ground Services Company, the leading company in providing ground handling services and solutions in all the Kingdom’s airports, signed a contract to serve the flights of EgyptAir, a member of the Global Star Alliance, in all the Kingdom’s main airports, in addition to Abha International Airport and Prince Nayef International Airport in Qassim, to provide passenger services in travel lounges and aircraft services in airport yards.

As for the EgyptAir Training Academy, many agreements were signed during the exhibition days, the first of which was with the Libyan Mazaya Consulting, Training and Aviation Sciences Company.

An agreement was also signed with the Indian BIRDMAN AVIATION INDIA company.

The head of the Indian company expressed his happiness with this contract, stressing that the cooperation between EgyptAir and BIRDMAN AVIATION INDIA is an extension of EgyptAir in India as it will help increase the volume of business by expanding the training of pilots of different models and will not be limited to a particular model.

The EgyptAir Training Academy also signed a contract with the Sudanese Tarco Aviation Company.

The EgyptAir Training Academy also signed a new agreement with Airbus International to provide the academy with the latest techniques for training maintenance engineers on the Airbus A320 model.

The agreement was signed by President of the EgyptAir Training Academy Ehab El-Tahtawy and Vice President of Airbus Customer Service for Africa and the Middle East.

El-Tahtawy confirmed that the agreement is a qualitative leap in the training method as part of EgyptAir’s policy to raise the level of aircraft maintenance and raise safety and security rates to the highest levels.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Aviation also organized a seminar at the exhibition entitled “Investment in airports and the role of regional airports in the economic development of the Red Sea Coast”.

At the seminar, the Ministry of Civil Aviation represented by the Airports Holding Company presented its ambitious strategy by presenting the available investment opportunities on future development projects, highlighting the pivotal role of regional airports as an economic driving force on the Red Sea coast as well as focusing on the importance of the air transport industry and its technical and logistical services.
