CAIRO – Pope Tawadros II, 118th Pope of Alexandria and Patrarch of the See of St. Mark, said Monday “Religion is for God, the Nation is for All”, asserting that Egypt has a glorious and old civiliation since the dawn of history and that the Family House aims at entrenching the principle of citizenship and co-operation in order to have a better nation.
Addressing a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of founding the Egyptian Family House, the pope said the term “Family House” is loved by all Egyptians as it is a reflection of the meaning of authenticity, safety and good morals.
He pointed out that religions are revealed by God to create rapprochement and understanding among people on earth.
The world is now facing tough challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic which has led to social distancing along with other natural changes such as climate change and others, he said, and therefore there is a dire need for consolidation of efforts to stand against all such tough challenges.
He pressed the need for adopting a profound approach aimed at increasing human awareness about five main pillars; the love of God, love to nature, love of humans to all their mankind, the love of the nation and the earth on which we are living.
The pontiff also underlined the important role played by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and all the state’s leaderships in carrying out mega projects that has shaped the new republic that will be admired by all the world thanks to the efforts of all its people.
