Egypt and India held their first Joint Working Group meeting virtually last Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by Shri Praveen Kumar, Director, Department of Commerce from the Indian side and Mr. Michael Gamal Kaddes, General Director of Bilateral Trade Agreement, Ministry of Trade and Industry from the Egyptian side.
Talks focused on expanding trade, increasing bilateral investments and the problems faced by exporters and importers on both sides.
The Indian delegation, comprised officials from the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, the Plant Quarantine Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and the India Trade Promotion Organisation, among other national agencies.
Trade exchange between Egypt and India reached $4.5 billion in fiscal year 2019-2019.
