Al Ahly started the CAF Champions League group stage journey on Tuesday night against Sudan’s Al Merrikh SC at Cairo Stadium.
Title holders Al Ahly kicked off their African Champions League group-stage campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Sudanese giants Al-Merrikh at Cairo Stadium on Tuesday.
After a tough first-half, Mohamed Magdy opened the scoring at the 57th minutes.
And things becomes easier as Mahmoud Kahraba (63 minutes) and Walter Bwalya (71 minutes) scored the second and third goal for the team of Pitso Mosimane.
Al Ahly will face Simba SC in Dar Es Salam next Tuesday, February 23 for their second encounter.
