Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli urged continued coordination between ministries and all state bodies concerned to implement the national project to upgrade rural area.

This comes as part of the presidential rural development initiative.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attaches great importance to the project that is offered all capabilities and allocations by the state, Madbouli said during a cabinet meeting at government headquarters in New Alamein City on Thursday.

This requires concerted efforts to maintain coordination and speed up the pace of work for completing the project in accordance with the specified timeline to improve living standards for 60 million people in rural areas, the premier said.

Madbouli called on the ministers and all officials concerned to conduct periodic follow-up of the project, to detect any obstacles, and work on their removal.

The prime minister underscored the importance of developing mechanisms to implement all points agreed upon with the South Sudanese side during meetings of the joint higher committee, which recently held its first session in Cairo.

He also highlighted the necessity to start implementation of terms of the memoranda of understanding (MoU) signed at the conclusion of talks between Egypt and South Sudan.

Madbouli emphasised President Sisi’s persistent directives to the government to make all possible efforts to promote co-operation between Egypt and all African states, including South Sudan.

He also affirmed Egypt’s keenness to proceed with offering support to South Sudan in the fields of irrigation, health, and education, in line with launching an economic integration process in other areas such as investment, energy, infrastructure, agriculture and petroleum.

The prime minister also referred to the recent visit to Egypt by the Congolese prime minister, lauding the progress achieved in promoting bilateral relations as a result of coordination between the political leaderships in both countries.
