President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that national armies represent the backbone for guaranteeing cohesion and stability of states.
Receiving Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Joseph Aoun, President Sisi hailed the major role of the Lebanese national army to maintain balance and stability in the country, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The meeting, attended by Egypt’s Minister of Defence and Military Production General Mohamed Zaki and the Lebanese Ambassador in Cairo Ali Halabi, discussed means of boosting bilateral co-operation in addition to ways to help Lebanon to benefiting from the Egyptian expertise in various fields.
Radi said that President Sisi welcomed General Aoun on his visit to Egypt, lauding the depth of the close relations between Egypt and Lebanon at the official and popular levels.
