CAIRO – The Egyptian Furniture Export Council announced that the sector’s exports during the first six months of 2021 increased by 38 per cent to dlrs 131.742 million, compared to dlrs 95.309 million during the same period of 2020.
The monthly report issued by the Council, Monday, indicated that the sector’s exports increased during last April by about 201 percent, to record dlrs 26.346 million, compared dlrs 8.764 million during April 2020.
It added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first in terms of countries importing Egyptian furniture during the first six months of 2021, which increased by 27 percent to reach about dlrs 33 million, compared to dlrs 26 million during the same period of 2020, and the United Arab Emirates came in second place, which rose by about 21.4 percent, recording dlrs 17 million, compared to dlrs 14 million.
It explained that Egypt’s exports of furniture to Iraq rose during the first six months of this year by 45.4 percent to reach about dlrs 16 million, compared to dlrs 11 million during the same period last year.
