The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) signed on Sunday an initial contract with Mercedes-Benz to establish a logistics park in the Ain Sokhna industrial zone, inside the SCZone.
The agreement was signed by SCZone Chairman, Yehia Zaki, Mercedes-Benz Board Chairman, Peter Ernst Ross, and Mercedes-Benz Egypt CEO, Raool Rohan.
SCZone Vice Chairman Mohamed Shaaban and CEO Waleid Gamal Eldein attended the signing ceremony.
“This is an important step for us to have a logistic park by Mercedes which facilitate and support the auto industry in the SCZone,” Zaki said after signing the contract.
Such projects and contracts with the international companies would enhance the investment in the zone, he said.
“This project has gone through many negotiations and we succeeded in completing all the negotiation progress, to reach the establishment of this logistics centre for Mercedes which includes a storage yard for cars, a centre for auto spare parts and a maintenance workshop,” the chairman of the SCZone noted.
