NEW DELHI – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s participation in the G20 Summit, which kicked off in New Delhi Saturday, will contribute to enhancing climate-related discussions, affirmed a host of international experts.
In exclusive statements to MENA, the experts said that the negotiations which were held at the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP27) in Sharm El Sheikh last November, were constructive.
They further affirmed the importance of building on the outcomes of the COP27 during the upcoming climate conference, which will be held in UAE.
The G20 brings together the world’s major and systemically important economies. Its members represent about 85% of global GDP.
G20 members include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.
