Chairman of the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) Osama el-Gohary on Thursday said that the digitization of strategic documents preserves state’s national memory.
The contribution of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Egypt’s economy is estimated to amount to dlrs 42.7 billion by the year 2030, IDSC head added.
Gohary was addressing a symposium organized by the IDSC, in collaboration with Bibliotheca Alexandrina, under the the theme: “Cognitive Content at Documentation Centers and applications of Artificial Intelligence.”
The event aims to highlight the significance of utilizing AI applications in the management of knowledge content towards backing research efforts.
Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina Ahmed Zayed, alongside a galaxy of executive officials representing several ministries and government bodies were present at the symposium.
Gohary pointed out to the notable fast-paced adoption of AI techniques worldwide, noting that global digital economy represented 16 percent of the world’s overall GDP in the year 2022, according to World Bank records.
The IDSC seeks to localize technological applications and build smart technological solutions at a global level, in order to enhance the decision-making process, through boosting dependency on smart technologies like modeling and artificial intelligence, he added.
Since 2006, the government has managed to digitize more than 28,000 strategic documents till the year 2023, the IDSC head added.
