Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi lauded co-operation with the World Food Program (WFP) on a number of files of mutual concern, especially in the field of illegal immigration and training youths within the framework of the presidential initiative of “Life-Saving Boats” in 14 governorates.

She made the remarks during a meeting with Praveen Agrawal, WFP Representative & Country Director in Egypt, according to a statement by the ministry on Tuesday.

Gendi referred to bilateral co-operation in launching “Bedaya Digital” initiative for qualifying youths for e-jobs.

Meanwhile, Agrawal said Egypt is a pivotal country for the WFP in light of its distinguished regional and international position and the fruitful co-operation with the Emigration Ministry over the past years.

Agrawal stressed the programme’s preparedness to engage in new partnerships with the ministry.
