Governor of Cairo Khaled Abdel-Aal met on Sunday with Aremnia’s Ambassador in Cairo Hrachya Poladian.
During the meeting, Governor Abdel said the Egyptian leadership holds in high esteem firm ties with Armenia as is evident in the mutual presidential meetings and contacts between the two countries, the latest of which was by President
Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Armenia last January.
The talks covered means to enhance co-operation between Cairo and Yerevan in the field of combating climate change.
Abdel-Aal also referred to government efforts to deal with the repercussions of the global economic crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Abdel-Aal went on to say that the government has managed adverse economic conditions without affecting development projects nationwide.
For his part, the Armenian envoy said Egypt has witnessed great development and rapid urban growth, especially the New Administrative Capital, since President Sisi assumed power in 2014.
The Armenian ambassador presented the Cairo Governor with a picture of a famous square in Armenia, called ‘Misr Square’, in appreciation of the distinguished relations between the two countries.
